Join us each week while we re-watch the X-Files and discuss the science and culture behind each episode and how much we still love Mulder and Scully (spoiler: a lot).
Our world is riddled with disasters, pandemics and civil unrest. As populations continue to rise and our communities become more and more dependent on our modern systems, the entire civilization becomes increasingly fragile and unstable. Living in this society requires us to think beyond the current safety of our homes and to imagine a time when home, becomes dangerous. When leaving becomes vital, when bugging out becomes necessary. Introducing a new podcast series for preppers, survivalists and everyday people who understand the fragility of our 21st century existence and who want to hope for the best, but plan for the worst.

Engineering Change is the podcast designed to help REDEFINE engineering as we know it by: RE-imaging who we see as engineers and what we see as engineering, DE-siloing academic programs and problem solving, and FINE-tuning culture and climate using best practices for justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion (JEDI) so people from all backgrounds and identities can succeed. It’s about being just as intentional with JEDI as we are with solving any other problems in engineering; applying a carefully planned, iterative process that includes the stakeholders from problematization through ideation, evaluation and ultimately, selecting the best solutions. Each episode leaves the audience with strategies you can put into practice wherever you are in the process of ENGINEERING CHANGE.

One Crazy Summer is the focus text of this podcast. I will be looking at the character Fern and her role throughout the novel. I will, specifically, be looking at how she is portrayed and how that has such a huge impact on her character. Although perceived as naive, Fern is the first to notice Crazy Kelvin’s plan. How does racism effect childhood? I used Fern’s experiences in the novel, as well as, interviewed a few of my friends who are African American and asked about what it was like growing up African American.

We all have that person we turn to when we need advice. That person who’s friendly, insightful, and calm, yet honest and direct. The one who will tell it to you straight, but will also be there to encourage and help you find your way. In the complicated and political business world however, it can be hard to know who you can turn to. Leading Like Her is the big (business) sister you’ve been missing in your career life. Erin has grown enough in her career as an operations leader to have authentic experiences that she wants to pass on as well as grow together with you through the experiences and advice of other guests on the podcast. More than the podcasts themselves, Leading Like Her connects listeners through authentic stories. Coming from the perspective of a mid-level manager, rather than a CEO, Erin meets you where you are and invites you on a growth journey with her as we strive to become better leaders together. This journey is paved by the experiences and knowledge of both Erin and her diverse guests, with the hope reaching a place of self confidence and permission in order to create actionable change in your own career trajectory. The Leading Like Her podcast and the community of women that follow along, inspire confidence and connection to cultivate the best leaders we all can be.

Being a great UX designer begins and ends with being a great human. We can’t pour an empty cup into another. We can’t lead others where we are not. This UX podcast helps UX’ers become the best, most powerful designers (and humans) they can be. Yes, you’ll discover how-to’s, but much more importantly you’ll discover why-to’s. Every episode is sure to inspire and equip you on how to better fight for your users and business, and dare I say change the world (even if only for one human at a time) in a much deeper and more tangible way than you ever thought possible.
